|Dr Kathleen Huxley is registered as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She completed her Masters in Applied Forensic Psychology at the University of Leicester and her doctoral training in Educational Psychology at the University of Bristol.|
Kathleen has over 20 years of experience working with children and families in the United Kingdom, Australia , Egypt and Mexico. She has worked in a range of diverse settings including multidisciplinary allied health teams, specialist provision, nursery, primary and secondary schools, hospitals and community clinics. She adopts a strengths based approach when dealing with a wide range of psychological, emotional and social difficulties and tailors her treatments to meet the individual needs of children and families with the aim of achieving lasting change. She has a strong desire to work holistically and collaboratively with all those who are involved in a child’s life.
Kathleen has completed advanced training and has extensive experience and skills in supporting individuals with ASD, and a range of evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, family therapy and schema therapy. She is highly experienced in conducting formal psychological assessments relating to IQ, attentional and behavioural concerns, contact disputes and language development and reporting the results of these assessments to paediatricians, schools and courts.
